Following on from their 2013 long player, R&S set indie-dubstep characters Vondelpark off in the direction of a heavyweight cast of remixers, resulting in a full bodied collection of versions that span a whole host of contemporary styles. Factory Floor get taut and throbby with their acidic take on “California Analog Dream”, while Robag Wruhme has a more emotive approach on his two interpretations of the track, channelling the organics of the original into his homespun minimal style. John Roberts is equally pastoral in his tackling of “Always Forever”, wrapping the source material around his fractured sense of rhythm and those haunting reverb decays that he has made his own. It’s not all pleasantries, as Happa demonstrates with the rugged techno grumble of his take on “Dracula”.
